Nouns

NOUNS
NOUNS ARE A VERY INTEGRAL PART OF ENGLISH.WITHOUT NOUNS NOTHING COULD BE ADDRESSED.
NOUNS IN COMMON DENOTE person, place, animal and thing.

Let's patiently work on it.

For instance
person-teacher
place-school
animal-dog
thing-box

These are called NOUNS.

There could be simple huge categories of NOUNS,many types though,to know the basics these 2 categories would be sufficient.

COMMON NOUNS AND PROPER NOUNS

LET'S FIRST BEGIN WITH COMMON NOUNS

EXAMPLES QUOTED ABOVE ARE THOSE TYPICAL COMMON NOUNS SAY,
Regular words which denote person, place, animal, thing are called COMMON NOUNS
Let's quote more examples

person-doctor
place-hospital
animal-cat
thing-bag

Now that being clear with common nouns, let's look into proper nouns

PROPER NOUNS

The terms which are used to address the person, place, animal and thing are called PROPER NOUNS.

Few examples on the row
person-Zara
place-London
animal-Tommy(might be the name of any animal say dog)
thing-Lays

The simple notable fact is common nouns begin with a "small letter" and proper nouns begin with a "Capital letter".

Now dear ones take any of your magazines or newspaper or advertisements and find out them and note them down to learn NOUNS easily.Observe the NOUNS you use in your day-to-day lives.

Explore many nouns around you and continue exploring them.

HAPPY LEARNING.

ARTICLES

ARTICLES

Articles are basic and simple words like 'a','an' and 'the'
Let's begin with the basics and then a few examples
Vowels - a,e,i,o,u are called vowels.
Consonants - All the LETTERS other than the vowels are called consonants.

This is a basic hint you must have in your mind before beginning with grammar.

Coming to our main idea "Articles"
a,an and the are the articles.
(definite - sure,indefinite - not sure)
Well 'a' and 'an' are the indefinite articles in the sense that they could denote anything non specific.
For example
I bought a blue box.
The 'blue box' specified here could be any blue box nothing specific. So it's not definite so 'a' is called indefinite article.

Next let's move on to 'an'

I ate an apple.

So similarly it could be any apple that you could have eaten.Naturally this being indefinite 'an' is called an indefinite article. This briefs on the indefinite articles.

'An' is used before a word which begins with a vowel say, apple, umbrella, angel, ostrich and so on.There are certain exceptions where we use 'a' before certain words beginning with vowels say, university,European, useful etc.Let's wind up on the indefinite articles 'a' and 'an' quoting a few examples.

Examples
Peter has a parrot.
I bought a car.
Wellington is a beautiful place.
Sara drew a beautiful picture.
He is an angry man.
Maria had an umbrella.
She is an early bird.
They have an olive tree in their backyard.

SIMILARLY, there are certain exceptions for 'an' also
The first letter of certain words remains silent, like for humble the 'h' is silent hence we pronounce it as 'umble. So 'h' being silent here, since their is a vowel 'u' as the beginning letter it is always "an humble" person.Similar examples include honest, honour, honorary, hour,an heir and so on
It is an historical event.
I came here an hour before.
He is an honest man

For only few extra exceptional words like hotel we say "a hotel".
Initially, though you might find it a bit confusing it would become easy as you get used to.
"Practise makes you perfect dear children".

 The last article is 'the'

'The' is a definite article. It is used when the thing you signify is specific.
Bring the soap I bought yesterday.
The shop next to my house is good.
The first prize goes to Zara.
The winner of the Olympiad is Leno.

'The' is used for superlative degrees, say the extreme words like hottest, biggest, tallest, highest, greatest, most intelligent, most popular, most significant and so on.

Rajasthan is the hottest place in India.
She is the tallest girl in the class.
She is the most intelligent girl I have ever seen.
Harris is the smartest boy.

Hope I have made articles very simple and straight,so start using them in your day to day lives correctly and share this with your kids.

MY SECOND BLOG

HERE I SPRING UP WITH MY SECOND BLOG
In my forthcoming blogs I would love to teach proper pronunciation techniques, kids could practise from childhood,of course flawless English makes you a bit confident factually.

Your best command over your language comes when you pronounce the alphabets correctly

For instance as a start I shall hint you certain pronunciations for certain words.

Thumb - pronounce it as thum
Chaos - kayos
Often - awfen
Wednesday - Wenz-day
Bass - base
Receipt - ree-seet
School - skool
Honour - 'onor('h' is silent)
Potatoes - po-tatos
schedule - ske-dule
Power - paar
Tower - taar
Celebrate - selabrate
Crucial - cru-shial
Jalepeno - ala-peno
Conscious - con-shious

As a fact,
In general proper nouns could be pronounced leniently as you wish
For example
You could pronounce Peter as "Peter or Peeter" it's fine.

But well common nouns have to be pronounced the way they have to be
For example
Onion has to pronounced as "anion"

Hope I've made it pretty simple dear ones, catch you all soon in my next blog.Until that stay kind and always be positive.

HAPPY LEARNING AND HAPPY DAY.......
